We Indians have always enjoyed cricket in all its form viz. Test, One Day and now 20-20. Come cricketing season and we have always been onlookers at the idiot box. We have been the true supporters to the game and loved it so much that we have kept backstage our own national game, hockey and adopted this game from foreign land. Three years ago we saw cricket taking a new form with Indian Premier League and eight teams bidding for their world’s best players to play for them. The entire concept was new and exciting. It was something that the world of cricket had never seen or experienced before. All the cricketing Diasporas on one platform. It’s been three years now and now we have IPL three currently in session. I am ecstatic to see the intensity and amazement of people cheering for their teams. The entire nation gets divided into eight teams and follows their teams close to their hearts. It is nice to see youngsters like Suman playing for Gilchrist, and Hayden being captained by Dhoni. What a game, cricket has never felt so close-knitted. The entire cricket playing nations on one platform and enthralling the spectators. Every year we long for IPL season and cheer our teams either in stadium or on Television. It seems quite interesting to cheer for Pollard and Sangakara in IPL and be against them when India plays against West Indies or Sri Lanka respectively. What an irony? Everything is quiet interesting about IPL in the hearts of every cricketing fan. Every individual support their own favorites and cheer for their teams. It seems so different but ecstatic and has only made cricket so alluring. I am all guns for IPL and in my heart hope that my favorites win it again this time. Cheers for every team in IPL and the entire concept of IPL.
